Hiring in Japan through an Employer of Record

A Japanese employer pays half of the employees' pension premium, and the whole of the child and childcare contribution.

On top of salary, the employer pays

This is a floor, not the full cost: major employer charges in Japan are left out, as explained below.

What the employer pays on top of salary in Japan

Health insurance, the second biggest charge, is left out: it varies by prefecture and no official page we found states the employer half as a figure. Employment and workplace accident insurance are also left out. The pension premium stops at a monthly pay ceiling.

Yearly cost of one employee in Japan, by vendor

Salary plus the charges above plus the vendor's published monthly fee, for twelve months. Not included: benefits and currency conversion fees.
